What Our Customers Say...

We went to have a look around [at Calvert Way] the other day and I just thought I’d email to say how good it looks!

The site was clean and tidy, the programme seemed to be managed in a very structured way and the quality of work was good.

So, positive feedback, and I look forward to the opening in the Autumn!

Impact Housing

I just wanted to thank you for the speedy renovation work done at my house at Carlisle.

Having met on site today with Martyn Crouch (Project Manager), David Gray (Surveyor) and Tim Williamson from the loss adjusters Cunningham Lindsey, I can safely say that the work done there has been to an extremely high standard. I would like you to pass on my thanks to all the lads who were involved on the job especially Martyn Crouch who has been excellent.

The loss adjuster is dealing with a very high number of flood damaged properties in Carlisle and when we walked around today he commented that it was the best refurbishment he has seen.

Many thanks again.

Thank you for allowing me to come for work experience, and taking the time to help as well as make sure I was alright. I had a great time with everyone I worked with and I hope you can pass on my thanks. I have learned a lot about the building trade as well as local slang I was not aware of.

I would like to thank you for taking me as an employee and giving me an enjoyable work experience. I have enjoyed working in joinery, I learned about a lot of materials and tools used in joinery like skirting board, a tenon saw and a coping saw. I also learned to measure the angle of the stairs which I found very interesting.

On behalf of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland I wanted to say a ‘huge thanks’ for your fabulous and very great support for the Penrith Colour Run yesterday. For all at the event I hope you enjoyed the day and weren’t too splatted in the various colour run paint. The fabulous news is with everyone’s help and generosity over £20,000 has been pledged which is absolutely amazing. This is almost double the amount of funds raised last year so the Fundraising Team are all overwhelmed with the success and kindness from all. We realise we are very fortunate to have this generosity and support from the local community, organisations and businesses like yourselves which make this possible. £20,000 will provide numerous hours of end of life care and ensure the Hospice at Home nurses and carers will be there when needed. With a recent 28% increase in referrals from patients and families the funds raised are more vital than ever. Lots of photos will be added to Facebook over the next few days of the afternoon and of all the Colour Stations, I’m sure you will see fantastic images of participants being dowsed in pink, yellow, green and orange paint (link can be accessed below) so please take a look, and if you are member of Facebook please feel free to like, comment, tag and share your favourite images: https://www.facebook.com/HospiceatHomeCarlisleandNorthLakeland/?fref=ts

Once the flood water subsides you are left with the daunting prospect of how to get things put back together and return to some semblance of normality. The ideal scenario  is the arrival of that mythical beast, a knight in shining armour. We were extremely lucky in that we found Atkinson's, a building firm who were sympathetic to our needs and prepared to work to a realistic timescale.

To say that we have been impressed by the quality and expertise of Atkinsons' workforce would be an understatement, and most importantly in such a traumatic situation they kept us fully informed of the work in progress every step of the way.

There were no hiccups in the restoration work which is to the highest standard, and the job was completed and signed off ahead of time by an equally impressed Loss Adjuster.

Atkinson‘s were professional and helpful both during and subsequent to the installation. They devoted considerable time to developing the best layout for the equipment and their execution was faultless. The team were a pleasure to work with and very willing to explain details. Tony (the project manager) was excellent at keeping us informed throughout including the costing of any requested variations and additional work was always clear and reasonably priced.

When we originally designed and built our house in the early 90’s we chose lpg as our fuel, but with the ever increasing cost decided to replace our system in 2013.

We were given excellent advice from Tony and purchased a Biotech P2 25Rl, sited in the rear of our garage for flueing purposes and a 5 tonne external pellet store.

The wood burning route is an economical and renewable resource that fits with our ethos and the renewable heat incentive could provide an even better overall return than just the savings on fuel.

With the cost of oil going up each year, we decided to look into alternatives. We contacted Atkinson Renewable Energy, who after a site visit, considered our requirements, provided guidance and advised us to have a pellet biomass boiler installed. The Renewable Energy Team installed a Tundra compact 21 manual fill pellet boiler to our existing heating and hot water system. The job was carried out in a timely and professional manner with minimal disruption. They also helped me apply and gain the Governments Commercial Renewable Energy Heat Incentive subsidy. We are very pleased with the installation and the service we got from Atkinson Renewable Energy.

North Lakes Glass

Having taken advice from "Atkinson Renewable Energy", we decided on installing a Biotec P2 25EL. We are really pleased with the quality of the installation and now the system has been up and running for over six months, running costs are far less than expected and is more than covered by RHI payments.

"We are delighted with the high quality of the work and would like to thank Tony, Martyn, Ian and the whole team from the contractors to the girls in the office, they are a credit to Atkinsons."

Guy, your team was very efficient and the work was well done and your organisation of the work was appreciated.
