Our policies - safety and the environment
Safety is a crucial issue for anyone working
in the construction sector and for householders and property owners too.
We are registered with Corgi for all gas installations and maintain the
highest standards of safety throughout our building projects.

We are very conscious of our duty to recycle
materials and waste, reduce energy usage and care for the environment
around us. In 2004 we were awarded the Bronze standard for environmental
awareness in our business by the Cumbria
Business Environment Network and in 2005
we have been successful in achieving the Silver standard. Our systems
have been developed and achieved the Gold standard in 2007.
The firm’s current environmental aims
are:
- continually to identify any effect our activities
may have on the environment;
- to minimise the impact of our operations on the
environment using a system of continuous improvement in the way we
work;
- to endeavour to ensure that the company meets
its responsibilities by conforming to all applicable legislation;
- to prompt our workforce by written and verbal
communication on their responsibility, in the normal working day,
to environmental protection, waste minimisation, the controlled use
of utility services and the re-use of recycled material;
- to save, whenever possible, recyclable paper,
cardboard, tins, glass and plastic for transfer to Eden Community
Recycling.
