Kick Start Your Weekend With The Christmas Park Run!
Do you fancy stretching your legs and burning off those pre-Christmas calories?
Completing a brisk 5km run surely means you can indulge in even more mince pies and puddings this holiday season!
The Christmas Park Run will take place this coming weekend on Saturday 12th December at 9am at Frenchfield Sports Centre. The event is totally free with any donations going to Eden Runners. For all those new to the Park Run, pre-registration is suggested. This can be done online at: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/penrith/ Fancy dress is optional but encouraged! So hunt out your best elf costume, Christmas jumper or Santa hat and come along whatever your age or pace, all are welcome!
A Brand New Christmas Market
After all that exercise perhaps a treat is in order?
So head into town for traditional wooden chalets decked out in twinkling lights, fully stocked with Christmas gifts galore and festive foodie treats available to enjoy whilst you browse. Grownups may enjoy a glass of mulled wine while children pay a visit to Father Christmas in his magical Winter Wonderland Chalet.
The aim of the Winter Festival is to encourage people to ‘shop local’ and the majority of the traders involved in the Christmas market are local artisan producers and makers from in and around Eden/Cumbria. Given the recent flooding it is more important now than ever to support our local businesses!
