Atkinson Building Contractors Celebrate Success - 50% of their 'operational' staff are now qualified as competent Site Managers.

Steven Hall and Alaister Traill have recently completed Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification which is nationally recognised by the Approved Code of Practice for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 as a demonstration of competence in the role of Site Manager.

This competence ensures they have clear understanding their responsibilities and accountability for project site safety, health and welfare and details relevant health and safety legislation, in particular the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) 1974 and all regulations relevant to the construction industry including; site set up, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Scaffolding, Electricity, Excavations, Demolition and Confined Spaces. 

22 of 44 ‘operational’ employees now hold this qualification which is recognition of Atkinson Building Contractors commitment to Health and Safety excellence and investing in their people.
