We are pleased to share the submission of an outline planning application for a fully affordable residential development off Brisco Road, Carlisle.
The proposal seeks to deliver 265 affordable homes, providing a range of tenures, including a retirement living scheme, helping to meet the clear and growing demand for affordable housing in the area. Nationally, the UK needs to deliver around 300,000 new homes each year to address housing shortfalls, underlining the importance of developments such as this.
Located close to the Brisco Conservation Area, the scheme has been carefully considered to ensure it responds sensitively to its setting. The plans prioritise thoughtful landscaping, the retention of existing hedgerows and mature trees, and the creation of enhanced biodiversity, supporting both the local environment and long-term sustainability.
Affordable housing plays a vital role in supporting strong, sustainable communities. This proposal demonstrates our commitment to delivering homes where they are most needed, while creating a thoughtful, well-designed environment that will have a lasting positive impact for Carlisle.
