Outward Bound Ulswater Centre Upgrade

23rd Feb 2017

The £3M Outward Bound Ullswater Centre upgrade is complete with a royal seal of approval.

The major design-build upgrade to the Grade II listed buildings costing almost £3M included, the building of 10 yurts, extension and refurbishment to existing buildings, new stores and kit building with an all-in-one green vegetation system roof installed and a state of the art biomass boiler and heating system.

Towards completion, it was fantastic that HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh who is the Patron of the Outward Bound Trust completed a tour of the development with Company Directors Steve Atkinson and Neil McKaskie.

The upgrade is a credit to Neil McKaskie, Stuart Airey, Ian Martin and everyone involved; it will improve facilities for young people who attend residential learning programmes at the centre.
