This project was the refurbishment of an existing Gymnasium located at the top of station road in Keswick.
The main aim for our client in upgrading the facilities was to try and attract more customers to a more modern looking, leak free gym, with up to date equipment.
The work we were appointed to complete was
Gym area
• Strip out the existing Gym area of the existing suspended ceiling grid and tiles, flooring coverings, staircase nosings, risers, treads, signage, window film and door furniture
• Supply and install new liners to valleys to stop leaks
• Minor joinery works to improve standard of existing timber doors
• Supply and install new insulated suspended ceiling and grid
• Supply and install new Karndean flooring to machine area
• Supply and install new specialist Everoll flooring to free weight area
• Supply and install new opaque film to windows
• Supply and install new chequer plate to free weight area
• Joinery work was carried out to mend and improve the standard of existing windows
• Supply and install new grid lighting
• Full internal decoration of the gym area
• Full decoration of the timber doors and windows
Toilet area
• Strip out the toilet areas of the existing suspended ceiling grid and tiles, WC’S, cubicles, lighting, floor coverings, drains and doors
• Supply and install new acoustic ceiling and grid
• Supply and install new grid lighting
• Supply and install new Polysafe vinyl flooring and drains
• Refit old WC’s cubicles
• Refit internal timber doors
• Full decoration of the toilet areas
Also as part of the full refurbishment project new TV and radio facilities were installed and also new high quality Techno-Gym equipment was installed including a state of the art rowing machine used by the Great British rowing squad to train on and machines suitable for people with physical disabilities or limited mobility.
The project duration was meant to be completed in 11 week’s but we managed to complete it within 8.
