A development of 5 large family homes in the picturesque Eden Village of Bolton situated close to the market town of Appleby. Comprising three 4 bedroomed houses a 3 bedroomed dormer bungalow and a 3 bedroomed traditional bungalow.
The development site was originally acquired in the 2000s and the former barn and farm buildings were demolished on the site to leave us with a quiet site, set back from the road to create a private cul-de-sac. The houses were faced in local red sandstone which provides a local character to the development which, when coupled with the modern scraped silicone render finish generates an appealing modern-looking estate. Each house boasts a good sized garage with ample gardens suitable for family living and entertaining guests.
The homes are all powered by renewable energy – namely Air Source Heat Pumps which convert outside air into heat in a reverse of the process that keeps fridges cold. This technology has been around for a few years and the increasing efficiency of the Heat Pumps and increasing price of oil has increased the viability of this power source in domestic housing. Coupled with high levels of insulation throughout required by building regulations currently, efficient UPVC windows & composite doors, the homes are designed with the environment in mind.
The properties are all tailored to meet the individual customer's requirements, with a range of different kitchens, bathrooms, wood burners and laminate floor fitted throughout the development. Oak doors and detailing to staircases provide a sophisticated finish internally, with some customers choosing to add glass balustrades to their staircases to add extra dimensions to their properties and enhance the lighting which was already plentiful with LED downlights in most rooms.
Overall the development has been a great addition to the village of Bolton and a successful development on the whole.
