Thirlwell Avenue off Warwick Road in Carlisle was one of the areas devastated by Storm Desmond and the ensuing floods. We have been appointed as contractors to various jobs in the area where we have completed full reinstatements.
One of our projects (12 Thirlwell Avenue) involved removing and replacing existing floorboards and treating existing joists. We also had to refurbish internal doors and replace the front door. A new gas fire was required, and we made good the lower steps of the staircase. We were required to fit a new kitchen, radiators and valves and also to replace the timber decking to the rear.
The second project at 10 Thirlwell Avenue initially involved cleaning and sanitizing the property. Following this we replaced the external oak doors, skirting and backmould throughout, all ground floor windows and laid new floorboards to the hall, lounge, dining area and newly installed kitchen. We replaced the Baxi wall-mounted boiler with a Worcester boiler. We repaired the power distribution to the ground floor, lighting circuit and data and telecoms installations before testing and certifying all circuits. Finally, we completed a full internal redecoration of walls and ceilings of the entire ground floor area and stairwell.
